Barrister Nudra B. Majeed was part of the specialist lecturers for training the Judges of Commercial Courts in Punjab, Pakistan. She conducted a session on “Commercial Courts Interface between Commercial Courts and Arbitration”.
She briefed the Judges on Comparative analysis of Arbitration Laws between Pakistan, India, England and Singapore. The lecture session was encompassed with the current arbitral legislation, scope of application to domestic and international arbitration, Institutional Arbitration / ad- hoc arbitration, sectors where arbitration routinely governed, length of court proceedings in commercial cases and interface with court.
Special focus of the lecture was on comparison of commercial courts working in India, England and Singapore. Different aspects of Commercial Courts like type of cases, structure of the courts were discussed in detail of each country. Additionally, the issues faced by commercial courts were also discussed which included; dealing with Electronic Disclosures, Evidence Procedures in Domestic and International Commercial cases.
