Barrister Nudra B. Majeed, along with Advocate Ashan Khalid and intern Salma Qazi, had the opportunity to take a tour of the offices of the DIG Operations Lahore, Ashfaq Ahmed Khan. They met with the DIG Operations Ashfaq Khan where they were appraised about the inspiring initiatives that are being taken by the Punjab Police to meet the needs of the citizenry, and then were shown around some of the sites and offices where this important work is being carried out. They visited the Control Room of the DIG Office, where remote monitoring technology is in place to oversee operations at each of the 84 police stations in Punjab. Social media is also being used to help keep the public informed about the police affairs. Barrister Nudra and her colleagues then visited the Khidmat Markaz (Help Center) of the Punjab Police. Located in Greater Iqbal Park, this center has been created in an effort to service a particularly densely populated area of Lahore. Here, the well-trained staff swiftly attends to the non-criminal-related issues of citizens, such as the issue of domicile certificates, employee registration, and more. We at FGRC are excited to see these civic-minded and innovative enterprises be carried out under the able hand of the DIG Operations Lahore Ashfaq Khan, and hope to work with the Punjab Police as they continue to reform and improve the efficacy of their operations.
