BIOGRAPHY
Syed Zain was born in the coastal city of Karachi, Sindh province into a naval family. His father was a Chief Engineer in the Pakistan Merchant Navy. He completed his primary education in Malir. Malir is famous for being a fertile spot in an otherwise sandy, urban metropolis due to the Malir river which runs southwards ultimately joining the Arabian Sea. Zain transferred to Mianwali Kundian, province of Punjab for his high school when his parents, tragically, passed away at young ages. Mianwali Kundian is home of Pakistan nuclear power fuel complex and one of the first water barrages, Chashma barrage. It has now also developed into an educational hub with the county’s leading languages university set up there. Zain then transferred to Quetta, Baluchistan province where he completed his intermediate education along with a diploma in electronics.
Due to the early death of Zain’s parents, he entered professional life very early. In Quetta, he worked with a Malaysian telecoms company which was amongst the first to operate in the Baluchistan province, of which Quetta is the capital city. After obtaining experience of working in a multinational company in Pakistan, he secured a good position with the biggest telecoms company in Pakistan which was a joint venture between Qatar and Turkey. For 15 years he remained in the telecoms sector steadily gaining experience and expertise in legal matters affecting telecoms. He then joined Barrister Nudra B. Majeed as a paralegal then was promoted to Law Clerk. He has been working with Chambers for over 10 years. His extracurricular pursuits include martial arts, travel and dabbling in construction / architecture.
